This page is designed as an aid to commuters, boaters, motorcyclists, and everyone who is dramatically influenced by changes in our local Santa Cruz weather. Since most weather sites on the web are San Francisco Bay oriented, we have endeavored to put together a list of links that are truly useful to Santa Cruz residents specifically.	Where possible, we will provide comments on the quality of the links we supply. We hope, by including live cameras and regularly updated weather information we can keep the general Santa Cruz public informed and prepared.

Current Weather Information and Updates

• Radar image of SF and Monterey bays
  A wonderful full-colour image of the weather situation in/around the Santa Cruz area (from the National Weather Service's NEXRAD WSR-88 weather radar).
• CA/Nevada Radar Map
  This colourful map shows rain, snow, etc. throughout California and Nevada. Great! From a radar based in Bakersfield.
• Pacific Satelite Loop
  Shows an excellent moving looped image of weather over the Pacific ocean.
• Bean Creek Water Flow
  A graph of water flow levels at Bean Creek in Scotts Valley. This is a good way to judge how soggy the Scotts Valley (17) area is on any given day.
• CA NWS Observations
  the National Weather Service's observations and forecasts.
• San Jose Merc. News Coastal Weather
  A good comprehensive weather report for the Monterey Bay area. Surf and tide info, too.
• Hourly Weather Summary
  A full hourly weather summary for Northern California divided by city name (text only).
• CA Weather Narrative
  An in-depth text description of the weather situation in CA.
• Current Severe Weather Warning Map
  A map of the current severe weather warnings given by the SPC.

• ETAK Traffic Map
  A map of the SF Bay area with indicators for various reported incidents.
• Cal Trans Road Report
  WHERE THE OTHER PAGES GET THEIR INFORMATION. You will need to scroll through this but it is really useful in times of bad weather. You can also call 1-800-427-7623 for information (text only).
• Santa Cruz DPW
  The Santa Cruz Department of Public Works road closure page. Regularly updated information from the SCDPW -- excellent!
• CERES flood status map
  Flood and road information/maps. Includes highway conditions summary.
• CHP Listing of Local Accidents
  From the Golden Gate Communications Center -- updated as often and information is available. Excellent definitive source.
• CalTrans scheduled road maintenance/construction.
  Find where CalTrans will be working and avoid the traffic crush.

  Graphical 5-day forecast for Santa Cruz.
• SAN FRANCISCO/SAN MATEO/SANTA CRUZ COUNTIES
  A text forecast for most local counties. Good info, sorted by area.
• CNN's Monterey Forecast
  CNN in Monterey, useful if you're travelling South.
• CA Forecasts and Observations
  the National Weather Service's forecasts for selected cities. Includes obervations, etc.
• The Weather Channel Santa Cruz -- 5-day
  The Weather Channel's Santa Cruz Forecast.

California Ski/Surf Reports

• KPIX Ski Conditions
  Updated constantly, includes lift info, snow depth, etc.
• Snow Report
  Weekly Snow-Precipitation Update generated by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (formerly the Soil Conservation Service). Choose the most recent report by date. Reports are listed by date in the format snow_report.yymmdd
• Mountain Road Report
  Traffic and road condition report for mountain roads.
• SnoWeb
  Great listing of conditions by resort. Includes good information such as addresses and contact information for the resorts listed.
• Wind Reports
  Real time wind reports from call of the wind. Lots of areas covered... great for sailors or windsurfers!
• Swell Predictions
  Predictions of the swell for the CA coastline.
